Welcome to Peernity (“we”, “us”, the “Service”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our websites, mobile experiences, and related services. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time — we’ll post the updated version here and, when changes are material, notify you in-app or by email.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed these Terms with you.
2. Your account
You create an account by signing in with a supported identity provider (currently Google). You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials secure.
- All activity on your account, including content posted from it.
- Providing accurate information — including your public @handle — and not impersonating another person, brand, or organization.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, our community guidelines, or applicable law.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of the reviews, replies, votes, images, and other content you post (“Your Content”). By posting, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, display, reproduce, adapt, and distribute Your Content solely to operate, promote, and improve the Service.
You are solely responsible for Your Content. You represent that you have the rights necessary to post it and that it does not violate any law or third-party right.
4. Community guidelines
The Service exists to surface honest, first-hand opinions. You agree not to:
- Post paid placements, sponsored reviews, or reviews for products you have not personally used, without clear disclosure.
- Engage in vote manipulation, coordinated brigading, or the creation of fake or duplicate accounts.
- Post content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes intellectual-property rights.
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute content from the Service at scale without our written permission.
- Probe, attack, or otherwise attempt to disrupt the Service or bypass its security measures.
We may remove content and restrict accounts that violate these rules. In serious cases we may report activity to law enforcement.
5. Reviews are opinions
Reviews on the Service are the personal views of the users who post them. We do not endorse, verify the accuracy of, or take responsibility for individual reviews. Use them as one signal among many when making purchasing decisions.
6. Intellectual property
The Service itself, including our name, logo, software, and design, is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you a license to our brand assets beyond what is necessary to use the Service as intended.
7. Third-party links
Reviews and pages may link to third-party websites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability.
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the Service to you creates meaningful risk to us or other users.
Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including IP, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) will survive.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that content will be accurate or complete.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or (b) USD 100.
11. Changes to the Service
We’re building this in public and features will evolve. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may discontinue the Service or any part of it, at any time.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operating entity is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The specific jurisdiction will be published here before public launch.
